I’ve always had huge respect for boxers. The bright lights and the big fights are only a tiny part of it. It’s the months of training, the discipline, the sacrifice, the long camps away from family, and the relentless focus when nobody is watching.

​

But when you step into that ring, it’s just you.

​

Nobody else can take the punch for you. Nobody else can solve the problem in front of you. And if you hit the canvas, it takes something incredibly powerful to drag yourself back up and keep fighting.

​

There’s something almost gladiatorial about that mentality. The resilience, courage and sheer refusal to give up.

That’s what fascinates me about boxing.
